▪ There are a range of development opportunities for bringing forward housing supply. These include:
▪ developing out schemes that already have planning permission;
▪ purchase and conversion of existing buildings (either Council or privately owned);
▪ bringing forward schemes on Council owned land;
▪ purchase and development of purpose-built schemes for Councils.
▪ Each approach has its benefits and costs in terms of cost, quality of product, and speed of delivery.
▪ Critical will be the development of a model that works for the specific Council and meets its needs and expectations.
▪ The initial focus will be on:
▪ Sites and Councils where Ecos Living has ownership / control of a viable local asset of a scale likely to be attractive to the Local Authority;
▪ Sites that can readily be brought into use, either with planning permission or where change of use and conversion is possible in a short period;
▪ Suitable distressed assets likely to come onto the market. Private & Confidential
▪ Over the medium term, where Ecos Living develops an in-depth understanding of the LA housing requirements, we would be interested in:
▪ utilising Council land to bring forward schemes, and / or;
▪ acquiring schemes directly for Council use.
